“HealthRight: Caring for the Carers” is a series of short films using audio and footage from interviews, illustrations and animation.
I was honored to work with the talented Andrea Odezynska, a Ukrainain American filmmaker, to help tell the story of Ukranian employees at HealthRight International, a Public Health NGO. Andrea filmed, edited and directed this series of short films which I illustrated and animated.
HealthRight commissioned these videos to promote the 2 & 2.5 year commemoration of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. They are shown to donors and displayed at live events and conferences, and across social media platforms, where they've garnered hundreds of views and helped fundraising efforts.
The interviewees shared their experiences and hardships, and the ways in which HealthRight's support helped them navigate their losses. It was an honor to help bring their words to life, and to illustrate their stories in a meaningful way.
The scenes are drawn in Adobe Animate and compiled in After Effects with various textures.
